Get to know the photographer

I am truly grateful for your presence and for choosing me to capture the essence of your life. To begin, I am happily married to my husband, Ryan, whom I met over a decade ago on Plenty of Fish. Together, we share the joy of raising five wonderful children and a few farm animals that you may encounter as we embark on this journey together. While I secretly dream of our family becoming more home-centered, the reality is that our lives are quite the opposite. With four children actively participating in various youth sports—baseball, gymnastics, cheerleading, and marching band. Our family spends a significant amount of time traversing the great state of Tennessee, often resulting in a considerable debt to Discount Tire.

My journey in photography is not a new one. At the age of 16, I received my first camera as a birthday gift, intended for capturing images of my firstborn. Yes, you read that correctly, I was a young mother at 16. Unfortunately, lacking knowledge and the resources to explore photography fully, I set the camera aside, relying instead on my most recent iPhone. Now, at 31 years of age, I have invested in a new camera and lens specifically for photographing my children's sporting events, recognizing the limitations of my smartphone in such vibrant settings. Since acquiring my camera, I have dedicated countless hours to learning and honing my photography skills. As a stay-at-home mother by day and a part-time worker by night, I have found the freedom to immerse myself in this passion. Motherhood is the most challenging and rewarding aspect of my life. Becoming a mother at such a young age, coupled with a lack of guidance, forced me to make the difficult choice to leave high school, an experience that remains my deepest regret. It has made my journey more arduous than I ever anticipated, leaving me in moments of doubt about my potential. Choosing photography as my vocation allows me to explore my creative side while demonstrating that one’s past decisions do not have to define one’s future.

In essence, as my father wisely says, while the days are long, the years are fleeting. Our children will not remain little for long; they will grow rapidly before our eyes. Ultimately, the memories we cherish will be preserved through the photographs we create.
